So is it possible to spend maternity capital on home renovation? The answer is: definitely no, this is not provided for by law. Important! It turns out that the state is not interested in making life easier for the family, but in getting benefits from the use of maternal capital.

Since reconstruction entails the participation of organizations that, for a fee, draw up a design for a new premises, make changes to the technical plan of a residential building, and give permission for extensions, which the tenant is then required to register.

  • the certificate holder performed the work independently, no construction crews, professional firms, etc., only family members;
  • the residential building for reconstruction and the adjacent plot on which new facilities will be built must be owned by the applicant (child’s mother) with maternal capital or owned by the legal husband;
  • use of credit funds. It is not forbidden to take out a bank loan against future capital, but you cannot repay it early. Funds from the Pension Fund will be received only after the child turns 3 years old. Early repayment is provided only for the construction and purchase of housing.

It is not forbidden if the family adds their savings to the capital and reconstructs the house, at the same time renovating it and carrying out major repairs. The main thing is that the conditions for the development of maternity capital are met and the residential building is expanded.

Important! The issuance of money from the Pension Fund will be approved if the previous living area is increased by at least one accounting norm (from 6 to 18 sq. m. depending on the region).

If, after verification, each family member receives less than the required amount, the issuance of maternity capital funds will be refused.

The family has the right to receive 50% of 453,026 rubles in addition to their own funds.

It is stipulated that the Pension Fund issues maternity capital in two steps:

For obvious reasons, you cannot supply gas to a reconstructed house on your own. Gasification can be done using maternity capital funds as compensation for personal funds already spent. Money is transferred for equipment, connection to a gas pipe and to pay for the work of the gas company.
